The journey begins with a 1.5 to 2-hour drive north of the city to the coastal village of Sabang. From there, you will take a motorized boat to the entrance of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National ParkClick to open side panel for more information, followed by a guided canoe tour through the cave system. UNESCO World Heritage Site: You will explore a 1.5-kilometer section of the 8.2-kilometer navigable underground river, known for its complex ecosystem and "mountain-to-sea" landscape. Cave Formations: The tour highlights massive stalactites and stalagmites in chambers like the "Cathedral," where formations often resemble familiar shapes like vegetables, animals, and religious figures. Wildlife Encounters: The park is home to monkeys (macaques) and monitor lizards near the entrance, while thousands of bats and swiftlets inhabit the cave interior.
